How Do Sargent 8800 Series Rim Exit Devices Work?

Sargent exit devices are designed to comply with ANSI/BHMA A156.3 Grade 1 standards and feature a single-point rim latch.

These exit devices are UL10C (Fire), and UL305 (Panic) listed devices and are installed on the surface of the door (rim installation). They’re activated by pushing a bar on the inside during emergencies for safe egress. These are also available as HC8800 or WS8800 for hurricane-resistant applications.

• E Rail is perfect for door widths ranging from 24” to 32” (no cutting required for 32” doors).
• F Rail is ideal for door widths ranging from 33” to 36” (no cutting required for 36” doors).
• J Rail is suitable for door widths ranging from 37” to 42” (no cutting required for 42” doors).
• G Rail works for door widths ranging from 43” to 48” (no cutting required for 48” doors).

There are some additional options available, such as:

• Factory Cut Rails: Quality Door offers pre-cut rails to match your exact door width, facilitating seamless installation.
• Hex Key Dogging (Standard): Non-fire-rated devices come standard with hex key dogging. For cylinder dogging, specify 16-(#41 cylinder included). The less dogging option entirely removes the dogging function.
• 700 Series ET Trim: The 8800 electrified exit device requires 700 Series ET Trim for proper functionality.
• 8888 Multi-Function Exit Device: This unique device allows the trim to determine its function.
